Public Relations Foundation to Award $1,000 Scholarships
The Emerald Coast Public Relations Foundation (ECPRF) will award several $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors in Okaloosa, Walton, and Santa Rosa county high schools who plan to pursue a college degree in public relations, communication, marketing, or journalism. One scholarship is sponsored by Eglin Federal Credit Union, and Sherry Harlow, APR, sponsors one scholarship. Other scholarships may be available.
In 2024, the Foundation awarded two $1,000 scholarships to Hallie Ueberroth of Milton High School and to Elijah Duer from Freeport.
Applicants must be high school seniors residing in Okaloosa, Walton, or Santa Rosa counties, with a GPA of 3.75 or higher, a U.S. citizen, and planning to pursue studies in public relations, communication, marketing, or journalism. Also required are a brief essay addressing an ethical issue in public relations or journalism and a list of demonstrated leadership or community service.
The Foundation has awarded eleven $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors from Crestview, Niceville, Pace, Milton, Gulf Breeze, Choctawhatchee, and Fort Walton Beach High Schools and to one home-schooled senior.
The deadline for applications, electronically or by mail, is March 17, 2025. The application and additional information are available in high school guidance counselors' offices and at www.ecpro.org/ecpr-foundation.
