ECPRF Awards Two College Scholarships
Fort Walton Beach, Fla. - The Emerald Coast Public Relations Foundation awarded two $1,000 scholarships to a recent graduate of Milton High School and a home school senior from Freeport at the monthly Emerald Coast Public Relations Organization luncheon held at the Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
One scholarship is sponsored by Eglin Federal Credit Union. The second is the Sherry Harlow, APR Scholarship, made possible by a grant from Ms. Harlow.
Elijah Duer, who will major in communication at Boyce College in Louisville, KY in the fall, was presented with a $1,000 check by Laura Coale, Eglin FCU’s Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations. He was accompanied at the luncheon by his parents, Andy and Melissa Duer.
Hallie Ueberroth will be attending Troy University in the fall, majoring in Marketing. Sherry Harlow, APR, a founding member of ECPRO and a Foundation board member, presented Hallie with a $1,000 check. Hallie was accompanied by her mother, Jennifer Ueberroth.
Candidates for the scholarship must be high school seniors residing in Okaloosa, Walton or Santa Rosa counties, with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, a U.S. citizen, and planning to pursue studies in public relations, communication, marketing or journalism. Over the past few years, the Foundation has awarded ten $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors from Crestview, Niceville, Pace, Milton, Gulf Breeze, Choctawhatchee and Fort Walton Beach High Schools.
