The Emerald Coast Public Relations Foundation (ECPRF) awarded two $1,000 scholarships to recent graduates of Gulf Breeze High School at the monthly Emerald Coast Public Relations Organization’s luncheon held at the Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce on June 13, 2023.

One scholarship was sponsored by Eglin Federal Credit Union. The second scholarship awarded was the Sherry Harlow, APR Scholarship, made possible by a grant from Ms. Harlow.

Ava Patroni, who will attend the University of Florida in the fall, was presented with a $1,000 check by Laura Coale, Eglin Federal Credit Union’s Vice president for Marketing and Public Relations. Ava plans to study pre-law and business with a focus on corporate law and public relations. She was accompanied at the luncheon by her mother, Summer Patroni.

Joshua Jacobs will be attending the University of Central Florida in the fall, majoring in Media Production and Management.   Sherry Harlow, APR, a founding member of ECPRO and a Foundation board member, presented Joshua with a $1,000 check.  Joshua was accompanied by his mother, Maria Jacobs.

Candidates for the scholarship must be high school seniors residing in Okaloosa, Walton or Santa Rosa counties, with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, a U.S. citizen, and planning to pursue studies in public relations, communication, marketing or journalism.  Over the past few years, the Foundation awarded eight $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors from Crestview, Niceville, Pace, Gulf Breeze, Choctawhatchee and Fort Walton Beach High Schools.
