Public Relations Ethics: What You Do When No One is Watching

Join Emerald Coast Public Relations Organization (ECPRO)’s October Lunch & Learn featuring guest speaker, Dr. Randy Bobbitt, who will give a presentation entitled “Public Relations Ethics: What You Do When No One is Watching.”

Dr. Bobbitt's presentation will cover these five salient themes concerning ethics in PR:

  1. Confidentiality between public relations representatives and their clients

  2. Conflicts of interest

  3. Gifts, treats, and favors to and from media representatives who cover your client or organization

  4. Setting objectives and managing a client's expectations, and

  5. Truthfulness and accuracy in news releases and other materials.

After a 28-year career in college teaching, Dr. Randy now works as a freelance writer and author of college textbooks, and he teaches occasional non-credit course for local colleges and nonprofit organizations. Between writing projects, non-credit courses, and volunteer activities, Dr. Randy aspires to write a biography (or ghost-write an autobiography) for a famous person such as a politician or a professional athlete.

Space is limited and attendees are encouraged to register by 1pm on Monday, October 9th in order to guarantee a spot.
