Simona Faroni, who founded G.S. Gelato and Desserts with her husband, Guido Tremolini, will be the guest speaker. G.S. Gelato is a leader in the specialty ice cream industry, crafting the best ingredients into extraordinary products for restaurants and supermarket chains across the nation.
The two moved here following a vacation to the Emerald Coast in 1995. They fell in love with the country and the idea of the American dream. Without knowing a word of English, they moved to Ft. Walton Beach, imported Italian gelato-making equipment and started their dream business.
The couple quickly found out the machinery was not authorized for use in this country. They had to navigate the steps necessary to get the equipment up to code, as well as struggling to learn English. In just a year and a half, a lot of determination and hard work made G.S. Gelato the first manufacturer in the United States to receive approval from both the FDA and USDA for the production of wholesale gelato and sorbet.
Their story is living proof that all things are possible through love, passion, tenacity, commitment, integrity, dedication, and knowing that when you believe, all things are possible.
ECPRO meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Lunch is $15 for members and first-time guests, $20 for associates of members, $25 for non-members, and $10 for students. If you do not want to eat but want to hear the program, the cost is $10. Guests are always welcome and should bring business cards for networking. Don’t forget door prizes and a few extra dollars for business announcements. The money from announcements and the 50/50 draw go toward scholarships for local high school students.
